The following advising information reflects a piece of your Advising Network at Emory. It will still be up to you to build relationships across campus that contribute to your personal network.
OUE Academic Advisor
All Emory College students are assigned an OUE Academic Advisor based on visa status and last name.
HOW ADVISORS ARE ASSIGNED
Upon arrival in the Fall, you can set-up an appointment with your OUE Academic Advisors through the College Connect Hub. You will gain access to the Hub in the Fall.
Pre-Major Faculty Advisors can assist students with:
course planning
understanding majors
helping navigate academic requirements
connecting to valuable campus resources
Your Pre-Major Faculty Advisor is your official Advisor of Record until you have successfully declared your major and been assigned a Major Faculty Advisor.
HOW LONG ARE THEY MY ADVISOR?
It is highly recommended that you meet with your Pre-Major Faculty Advisor at least once before you register for each semester.
Major/Minor Faculty Advisor
After declaring a major or minor (beginning your second semester), your academic department will assign you a faculty advisor. They will be your official Advisor of Record up through Graduation.
HOW ADVISORS ARE ASSIGNED
Once assigned, it is recommended that you meet with your advisor before each Registration Period.
Pre-Major Faculty Advisors can assist students with:
course planning
understanding majors
navigating major/minor requirements
ensuring you are on track for graduation
Your Major/Minor Faculty Advisor(s) will help ensure you have fulfilled your degree requirements for Graduation.
HOW LONG ARE THEY MY ADVISOR?
You will be assigned an advisor for each Major/Minor you declare.
Student Leaders
You will be in contact with various student leaders who have been in your shoes and can provide advice and help throughout the academic process. Check the list below for more information.
Your OL will help you navigate the Orientation experience and can be a resource throughout your first year.
ORIENTATION LEADERS (OL)
Your RA lives in your residence hall and provides programs and support to ensure your first-year is successful.
RESIDENT ADVISORS (RA)
From Sophomore Advisors (SA) in your residence halls to EPASS Peer Mentors, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with a variety of students across campus.
OTHER STUDENT LEADERS
Gaining perspective from current students is important, but know
that no two student's journeys are the same. Be sure to keep an open mind!
