A map shows the slave trade across the Atlantic between 1460 and 1770. A map shows thirty-two percent of slaves were shipped to the Portuguese Empire in South America. Seven percent of slaves were shipped to the Dutch Colonies in South America. Thirteen percent of slaves were shipped to Spanish colonies in Central America. Twenty-four percent of slaves were shipped to the British Caribbean. Seventeen percent of slaves were shipped to the French Caribbean. Four percent of slaves were shipped to the British colonies in North America. Three percent of slaves were shipped to England and other slaves were transported to other areas of Northern Africa.
