HOW DOES YOU PRODUCT REPRESENT PARTICULAR  SOCIAL GROUPS

My model for my front cover magazine is a teenage girl because  I  wanted to attract target user which is teenage girls aged 16+.  My front cover  challenges the conventions to a R&B magazine because it doesn't show women as sexual objects it doesn't encourage the male gaze as Laura Mulvey  theory mentions.  I wanted my front cover image to be aimed at sophisticated young women so I wanted to achieve a classy picture but also to represent my age group.   So my models hand gestures in the picture show a more childish side to represent my age group because they usually use hand gestures like that themselves . My tittle "Jamz" is a word that teenagers use it means songs that they like, this  will also attract my target user because when they see my tittle they will know that my magazine is a in formal and a magazine that is aimed at their age group. 


CONTENTS 

My model on my contents page is also a teenage girl however she looks classy and it shows women to make my target audience clear. My model on the contents page looks influential and dominant, this is because of her facial expressions which makes her look sturdy and confidant. This gives women a confidence boost and shows them they don't have to take their clothes off and be represented as objects to look attractive.  

My contents page also has informations about my magazine's phone app that is able to download, i decided to do a app because it appeals to my target audience which is teenagers they tend to use their phones a lot. They download apps often so this would make them feel like my magazine understands what they like.  

demographics 

  • Teenage girls aged 16+ that are still education like college or about to go university
  • Have a low income probably have  part time jobs so they are tight on what they buy because they don't want to waste any money.  They are still leaving with their parents so they get some money from them
  • This genre is aimed mostly at young black females and some white audiences may want to read the magazine.
