During filming, we were faced with many areas that could pose a hazard to the safety of the crew members.
To ensure that we filmed in the safest possible way, we analysed any possible risks and the best ways to avoid or minimalise them.
With all filming, there is a risk of tripping over, especially on misplaced props or parts of the set. In order to reduce this risk, we will make sure unused props are stored safely out of the way of the filming crew
One of our scenes features one character bringing a hot beverage to the other character. This could pose many safety risks such as scalding if it is spilt on someone or creating a wet surface which could be slipped on if it is spilt onto the floor. To reduce the risk of scalding a character, the drink was cooled to a reasonable temperature before being used on set.
This is a risk with heavier and higher up props or even the set. The problem with having these types of props is that they have a possibility of falling, in some unfortunate cases, on people. This risk can't be reduced very much but can be prevented by keeping the crew away from any high up heavy objects.
During the start of filming, we were outside by a busy road that is utilised by many vehicles. The risks of doing this is quite high if members of the crew were near the road. However, this risk will be reduced since we will be filming away from the road.
