Despite the two million businesses that use Gmail, the email client has fallen behind com- peting products, such as the native email clients from Apple for its mobile and desktop devices. A user experience survey of Gmail users revealed that users are not satisfied with the functionalities of the mobile application. Many users indicated that Gmail’s mobile application fails to mirror the features of the web version. Some survey respondents cited that this inconsistency alone drives them to use native iOS email clients. At the moment, the Gmail mobile application does not offer any additional services that make a solid case for the switch. The survey also revealed that the majority of Gmail’s user base is between the ages of 18 and 34. This is a key target market for Google for Work, as the 18-24 market represents users from higher education institutions and the 25-34 market represents users from the business sector.
