Lyrics and generating ideas:

  • "Don't come around here any more" - showing the couple walking alone as part of the narrative
  • "Said that I should move on with my life" - opening lyric, establishing shot of artist on stage (present tense, highlights she has moved on from her relationship with her boyfriend) 
  • "That's what makes me sad" - shot of our artist (portraying the girl in the narrative love story) as sad and alone
  • "I still got my pride" - connotes happiness, that she's moved on

EDITING AND LIGHTING

Due to the general tempo of the song we want to use a majority of long takes, with slow paced editing cuts. However, as the song increases in tempo during the chorus we will include faster paced  edits and more short takes as from my research into the indie music genre I found that this aspect is often used.

We want to keep our video simplistic and use natural lighting as I also found this is  the dominant source of lighting found within the indie music genre as many outdoor locations are used so it is easy for directors to use.
