Music Video Analysis- Katy Perry

The opening shot of the music video is a medium shot, setting the scene of a party.

There is another medium shot of the singer playing a character which is unusual for a music video.

These shots give context to the 'story' of the music video which is that there is a girl who is typically not the partying type, who goes to a party and this is the aftermath.

This is a medium close up giving the audience a feeling for what happened.

This is a long shot showing everyone that has had a close up shot of them so far showing the whole scene.

This shot portrays a message that social media is powerful and that anything can be put on there and in the long run could be dangerous. It also shows how great it is to document memories.

This shot is a long shot and shows the build up to the party. The calm before the storm

In my music video I'm thinking about including a party scene, The lighting in these shots have a great amount of brightness as it's not too bright but you can also clearly see that it's not mid-day.  

This medium close up shows the transformation  that the girl went through.

The medium long shot shows the change from the girl in previous shots who was isolated to now where she is having a good time with lots of people around.

These shots also show her feeling better about herself.
