Celebrating 2020! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

I mean, it wasn't that bad.

So let's go back and reflect on the good!

Our team grew!

Ante!

The "when did he even do that!?" guy!

Ante!

The man of 1000 fascinating hobbies

Remember that time when...

Henry was asked as his first projectΒ to completely rebuild the reporting screen in React and he absolutely killed it?

Or that time when...

Henry and Ravinder built a new form templating system on a legacy codebase that looks and feels amazing?

Or that time when...

Kyle and Henry built an onboarding experience so fancy we were gaining notariety from the WP community for it?

Or that time when...

Ravinder and I managed to integrate with PayPal Commerce despite PayPal's best attempts to thwart us!?

Or that time when...

Ante as asked to go make a way to form test data, to which he casually wandered off, then showed back up with this beast with WP CLI support?

Or that time when...

Jon & Nathan built a whole @#$*&ing platform!!???

In short...

You guys did an awesome job this year.

Time for street-cred awards! 😎

To Henry goes the...

he's-definitely-better-than-I-was-at-his-age award! πŸ‘΄πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ

And now... for 2021 πŸ€”

We've got some big opportunities in front of us

βœ… Give.io will be launching Q1

βœ… Peer-to-peer is a big item to make this year

βœ… Henry is rebuilding the Donor Profile

βœ… Kyle is working on a new Fields API

βœ… We have tons of pitches and more to come

βœ… An on-going education budget

βœ… An upcoming system for performance and incentives

"Performance and Incentives" you say?

What this doesΒ mean

What this does notΒ mean

As the team grows we want a way of having a sense of the health of the team.

We want to identify good habits and help to foster them throughout the team

We will be able to use these metrics to identify exceptional work and reward

It is more important to keep work in Github and include call summaries

Our goal is to increase stress as much as possible and burden the team

We are going to be Big Brother and micromanage everything

This is a leaderboard and being on the bottom means doing a bad job

Only things in Github count as work (pitches are expected but nope!)

Daily commits are important. Do not wait until something is finished to push.

If this is stressing you out then just bottle that noise up

The goal remains the same:

Continually learn and grow as a team

In short:

πŸŽ‰ We helped non-profits raise $250M last year

πŸŽ‰ We've built some amazing things that truly help people

πŸŽ‰ We've grown as individuals and as a team

πŸŽ‰ We're not done growing and achieving, yet!

Monadic & Dyadic Functions with...
