Goals and Performance Metrics

- A goal setting framework that is cascaded across the organization
- A tool to build ongoing performance evaluations and conversations with your employees
- One key data point for performance, not the only one. Your others will be specific to your department or the role and will all aggregate to build a benchmark.
In practice: to establish 5 measurable goals per quarter, review performance against goals at the end and set 5 new goals for the next quarter.
What 5 goals are set?
2 = department or team metrics for alignment to the team or organization
2 = individual performance stretch goals for alignment to success metrics in their role
1= developmental goal that looks forward for professional development
Aligned Departmental Goals
Aaron: Application production and IT reliability in Q3 move to 99.8% with a target of 99.99%
Ops: - Improve SLA production operations availability to 99.99% while minimizing cost
Aaron: Establish security, disaster recovery and business continuity policy, procedures and implementations and make our policy available in a customer facing format to facilitate large enterprise contracts.
