Examples of Google Forms Usage
-
I utilize advanced Google Forms to grade my acting and speech classes. The forms are laid out as a rubric.
-
When scores are entered, they are tabulated and an email is automatically sent out with the scores in each area of the rubric, performance notes, and a final score two hours after the performance.
-
The grades are then transferred to a .csv file and uploaded to the grade book.
Moodle
-
System Administrator for the entire Denton school district.
-
Design curriculum and content for numerous subjects including Theater, Communication, IB Film, and Journalism
Skype INTEGRATION
-
Colleges speak to the students about their programs.
-
High school students using Skype with elementary students in the feeder system to teach them theatrical concepts.
workshops
Conducted Workshops on Moodle, Google docs, Slid.es and Camtasia and LucidCharts
I have also done numerous one-on-one training sessions with faculty on these same technologies.
Here is a link to one of my presentations:
Data Visualization
One of the largest challenges teachers face is how to disseminate concepts to students in a way that is engaging. The way present data to students is key. It has to be rich and engaging.
The following slides demonstrate how I have worked towards this goal through the use of technology
DATA Visualization
Flipped Learning
The biggest impact of my teaching style has been the classes and research that I have done on Flipped classrooms. Flipping my classrooms has allowed me to provide more hands-on learning experiences for my students while still ensuring that they learn the basics.
Screen Casting with students
An example of a Flip for IB Film developed in conjunction with a student.
Blended Classroom
Since 2007 I have had a paperless classroom, integrating all the lessons and tests into Moodle for Tech Theater.
I have used Moodle to create multiple learning modalities to reinforce theater safety, basic shop skills, and stage design.
