A
Few
Questions

What are your takeaways from the conference so far?

What is the purpose of your organization?

why is understanding your purpose important?

Great Examples of Why

Do you know your why?

“to provide an international organization uniting strong and independent women to build a network of pioneers and and innovators to serve as a catalyst for change”

  • What does that mean to you?
  • How do you currently rely on this statement?
  • Are there other elements of your purpose that you rely on to guide your chapter?

SMART Goals

Specific:  Identify who ,what, where, when, why

and workout 3 days a week’

Measurable: Be able to measure progress towards the goal.

Attainable: Develop steps to reaching your goal.

Realistic: You have to be willing to work at it and be able to reach it.

Timely: There has to be a timeframe; if no timeframe there will be no urgency to accomplish it.

‘get in shape’  vs. ‘join a health club and workout 3 days a week’

‘do better in school’ vs. ‘score 85% or better on each assignment’

'save money’ vs. ‘create a budget book, save receipts, & do a monthly assessment expenses'

‘run in the Olympics’  vs. ‘improve my mile time  by 15 seconds’

‘lose 10lbs' vs.  ‘lose 10lbs by May 15’

A complete SMARt goal

May 15 of 2017, I hope to become a more concise public speaker by taking lessons from a speaking coach, recording my presentations and reviewing them, and more consistently proofreading my speeches prior to delivering them. The attached rubric will help to assess my status.

your turn

a few
more
questions

thinking of root cause analysis, and thinking bigger about a challenge, who are the partners I can enlist in helping Sigma Psi Zeta to achieve this goal?

What challenges might I run into in trying to implement this goal?

Are there suggestions of things you have done in your chapter that I can take back to mine that might help me in achieving this goal?

wrap up

Thank you!
