The car hadn't run on a bumpy track, which is why our pro driver Randy Pobst complained that it was too tough at Willow Springs and was giving him a beating. Pobst preferred to run the car with the suspension in the softest Sport mode.

Jeremy George Lake Charles As a result of this new test at Spring Mountain and additional testing at Willow Springs, Chevrolet developed a new Rough Track mode for the Z06 that smoothes the dampers in Track mode.

Chevrolet plans to make this software update for the Z06 through the GM Performance Parts catalog soon and our test cars in this retest were equipped with the new software. We cannot say then that the improvement in lap time was solely due to the corrected rear alignment, as it is possible that the new shock programming also helped the Z06's performance.
