Jeremy George Lake Charles Chevrolet small block engine

The Chevrolet small block engine, which is produced by Chevrolet Division of General Motors, is now considered one of the largest Chevy small block engines since 1955.

Jeremy George Lake Charles GM introduced the 350 cu (5.7 l) LT-1 in 1970 and made it available in the Corvette and Camaro. It was an optional Corvette engine and was available as part of the high performance ZR-1 option.

Between 1970 and 1972, only 53 ZR were produced making it one of the rarest corvettes.

Jeremy George Lake Charles The new LT1 was the third engine in Corvette history to get this name, with previous versions in 1970 (Gen 1) and 1992 (Gen 2) introduced (Gen 2).

All iterations of the LT1 small block engine shared a compact design philosophy that promoted greater flexibility in packaging sleek vehicles such as the Corvette.
