GALACTIC EMPIRE

An oppressive government which uses fear and violence
to rule over hundreds of planets.

The head of state is The Emperor.

The Emperor's apprentice is Darth Vader.

Their soldiers are known as Storm Troopers.

They have large ships called Star Destroyers.

Their super weapon is called The Death Star.

The rebels are freedom fighters.
They want to liberate the galaxy from the Empire.

Princess Leia: A leader of the rebellion.

Luke Skywalker: A farm boy who later becomes a Jedi.

Han Solo: A smuggler who befriends Luke and Leia.

The rebels use small ships called X-Wings.

An energy field created by all living things.

"It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together."

Peacekeepers who use the Force to defend others.

Once there were many. Now they are nearly extinct.

There are only two remaining Jedi Masters:

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Yoda

Obi-Wan and Yoda are training Luke Skywalker
to become a Jedi Knight.

He uses a weapon called a light saber.

The enemies of the Jedi.

They find strength in the "dark side" of the Force
and embrace emotions like anger and hate.
