Design Sessions

What Are These Sessions?

  • Not A Resdesign

  • Not A Replication

Replication

Pixel perfect duplication of an existing design.  Either an existing design or a design provided to us.

Redesign

Strategy and visual design from discovery to build completed by a comprehensive Blackbaud team.

This is the path most often taken when BBIS is a part of an existing site or if the client has a provided a visual design they've created.

This is the path taken when the client wishes to rely on Blackbaud expertise to create a new design.

Because we have 5 Units, or Hubs, we are taking an altogether different approach.

 

To accommodate an earlier date for Go Live, we are taking a hybrid of redesign and replication. 
 

Redesign and strategy are possible in the future, but in the interim, we need a clean, highly usable design.

This session will take us through the steps of creating that design.

The Plan

  • Step 1: Answer some simple questions
  • Step 2: Build a great website
  • Step 3: Profit.

Note:
The Site we are creating is transitory.

The site is to be functional, not flashy.
Phase 2 will bring more of the glitz and glam.

The Questions

  1. Assumed functionality?
  2. Will we include a main navigation?
  3. If so, will we use an internal or duplicated navigation?
  4. Will we include an internal navigation?
  5. If so, will we place this to the left or right of our content?
  6. What logo will we use?
  7. What will be the Primary and Secondary color be?
  8. Will we alter the header fonts?  If so, what font will be used.
  9. What contact information will appear in the footer.

Internal Navigation

Will there be an internal navigation?

Should this appear on the left or right of the content?

Main Navigation

Will there be a main navigation?

Will we be duplicating a navigation from another site

Will we be using only the Internal Navigation?

What is the URL of the Main Navigation we will duplicate?

Logo

What logo will be used in the design?

A high quality file should be provided.

Colors

What are the Primary and Secondary colors to use?

These should be HEX values (example:  #FF63A0)

If unknown, a URL of an example page where the colors can be found along with information on exactly which colors are referenced.

Fonts

What are the fonts that should be used for Headers and primary text?

Or an example URL which contains the fonts that should be used.

Media Image

Will a media image be included?

If so, the image should be
1200px by 400px / 500px
