How does your genre of music attract the target audience?
Within my magazine, I have used models that are similar ages to my target audience, this helps the audience in relating to the magazine and feeling like they have a similarity to the models.
The costumes I have used within the magazine as well is also something the target audience would see when walking around as I haven't made the models dress up in luxurious clothes, they are in plain everyday casual clothes.
Another way I have made my magazine attractive to the target audience is that I have made the models pose in ways that make them approachable. By posing in a fun-loving, laughing pose, the models looks like they are happy and sweet. Relating to the pop genre.
How did your choice of models conform/subvert stereotypes of the pop music genre?
The models I have used within my magazine conform to the stereotypes as I have incorporated models from both ethnic backgrounds (black and caucasian) and made them pose in ways that make them approachable, as said previously.
I have used colours that are bright and stand out to the audience (red and blue) within the text backgrounds and text itself and it makes the overall magazine look more visually appealing.
However, a way my magazine subverts the stereotypes is the way that as it is aimed at a older target audience, I haven't used the compact format that a lot of pop magazines use, such as top of the pops.
How do your cover lines and main double page spread attract the audience?
My cover lines on my front cover talk about stories that are the type of stories that age range would like to read. I have used competitions and intriguing storylines to attract the audience in because they want to read more.
I have made my double page spread an interview and it is quite informal, giving a down to earth feel. This means that the audience can relate more and want to read about a celebrity that have come from a similar place that they have, not being brought up famous but working for it themselves.
What kind of marketing campaign do you think would attract your target audience when your magazine is released?
Because my target audience is between 15-19, I wouldn't bother with marketing on things such as radio and tv as I know that they tend to rely more on online streaming for these type of things. Therefore, I would want to advertise through social media as I know that the majority of teenagers this age have some form of social media.
Also, as people this age tend to use bus as a way of travelling, I will put up a poster within the bus stops so that they notice it and begin thinking to buy it.
