Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton is an astronomer, scientist and mathematician. He was born on January 4, 1643 in Woolsthorpe, England. He is well known for his theory of the 3 laws of motion or movement and universal gravity. His laws are now the basics of physics.

Who is Isaac Newton?

Isaac’s father was a farmer and his name was Isaac Newton too. He died 3 months before Isaac was born. Isaac’s mother then married again when Isaac was only 3. His mother left him alone in the care of his grandparents. When Isaac went to school, he was a very satisfying student. His mother wanted him to drop out of school to help out in the farm. Isaac refused because he had no interest in being a farmer. He then started studying again.

His Early Life

Isaac grew up being alone. For the rest of his life, he prefered to be alone and study on his writing and study. At 1661, Isaac attended the college at Cambridge. He spent most of his life at Cambridge becoming a professor of mathematics and being part of a group of scientists which is called Royal Society. He was elected to represent Cambridge University as a fellow of parliament. 

Growing Up

Sadly, Isaac had to leave Cambridge from 1665 to 1667. The 2 years he was gone, he used it as a study and development time especially on his theories on gravity and calculus. In 1696, Isaac Newton became the superintendent of the Royal Mint in London, England. He took his duties very seriously. In 1703 he was elected as the President of the Royal Society.
