▶ Many technological innovations rely upon User Interface Design to ensure that the product is user-friendly. Technological innovation alone may not necessarily win user acceptance and marketability. The User Experience, or how the user experiences the end product, is the key to acceptance, hence, the importance of User Interface Design.
▶ Interface Design for Multimedia Applications (MINTER1) is designed to harness the full potential of the multimedia designer’s ability to apply design principles and conceptualization skills to produce an effective user interface for websites, authored works, and mobile applications that takes into consideration development, visibility and usability factors.
▶ Identify the UI and UX principles applicable for the production of an effective interface design for offline and online multimedia content.
▶ Recognize and interpret the elements that constitute an interface design.
▶ Use basic HTML and CSS codes to develop an interface applying the design principles.
▶ Organize the structured interface based on the design objectives, target audience, and proposed medium of work (offline/online).
▶ Evaluate the effectiveness of the work through problem-based learning and user testing.
▶ Modify and construct a final interface for online and offline media based on internal testing and user feedback.

▶ Arriving late 2 times is equivalent to 1 absence. Late is considered half-absence. You will be marked late if you arrive within the first 30 minutes of the class hours (Section 3.1.3 Student Handbook).
▶ You will be marked absent if you arrive after the first 30 minutes of the class hours. Accumulating more than 2.5 absences will automatically result in a 0.0 for the course (Section 3.1.2 and Section 3.1.5 Student Handbook).
▶ Absences will only be excused if it is due to a university-sanctioned event. A duly signed and Approved Absence Form shall prove university-sanctioned events. Approved absences shall not be counted as part of the number of allowable absences and you will be allowed to make-up for any missed activity at the soonest time possible (Section 3.1.7 Student Handbook).
▶ Absences due to sickness, death in the immediate family, reunions, or weddings are NOT considered Approved Absences and should therefore be counted against a student’s attendance even if certified by a doctor, parent, or guardian (Section 3.1.7.f and 3.1.7.g Student Handbook).
▶ Absences due to prolonged illness and emergency accidents should be reported immediately to the adviser and to the Program Chair or School Dean, for appropriate action (Section 3.1.7.f Student Handbook).
▶ Teachers are not allowed to give a special final examination to those who missed the final exam, except for those who missed it due to an approved school activity as evidenced by the Approved Absence Form, conflict in Final Exam schedule with other classes, and absence due to sickness as evidenced by a medical certificate (Section 3.2.6).
▶ Project requirements should be submitted during the assigned dates, time, and venue. There will be NO extensions on project deadlines.
▶ Non-submission of assigned tasks will merit a 0.0 for the task.
▶ Project requirements should strictly follow the prescribed format. Submitted works that do not follow the prescribed format will immediately get a 10% grade deduction.
