Interactive Applications for Online Media 2 is the fifth course in the web track. It trains students in developing commerce-enabled and CMS websites for real clients. The course focuses on online business planning, organizing, design conceptualization, project monitoring and execution to bring about a successful completion of project goals and objectives.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Review HTML/CSS and JS as prerequisites to creating dynamic websites by completing a pre-assessment test or activity.
- Distinguish server-side from client-side scripting languages by listening to the lecture and viewing a PHP video (about the about connection and comparison of HTML, CSS, JS and PHP)
- Understand PHP basic concepts by implementing the PHP elements, data types, and control structures in a web project.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Understand the importance of PHP/MySQL in setting up a wedding planning website or any dynamic website.
- Be knowledgeable with CMS frameworks by installing/exploring Wordpress and its features to be able to create relevant web solutions.
- Learn how to setup a custom WP template based on the needs and requirements of the client or web project specifications.
- Integrate plugins and themes to achieve the design and functionality requirements of the project.
- Present the final project overview, web development process and design studies plan to be able to the class for critiquing and feedback.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Understand the importance of the Wordpress framework by setting-up an ecommerce plugin to be able to create a functioning ecommerce projects.
- Learn the importance of the setting-up and customizing plugins to achieve the purpose and objectives of a web project.
- Produce a relevant solution to a problem by setting-up a Wordpress site with relevant plugins and custom theme based on the target users and objectives of the DP project.
- Present the final project to class and panelists for feedback, critiquing and user testing.
