Reggie Bernard, the nerd
Character
Reggie Bernard is your stereotypical nerd who was identified as 'the Brain' in 'The Breakfast Club' in 1985. He is naturally extremely smart. His attire is typical of a nerd's style; a shirt, tight and short trousers, a tie, etc. He is very committed to his education, and driven by science as is every other nerd. He is goofy and has poor social skills as his obsession with science takes over his life. He has no social life and no friends but he has accepted that over the years as he has never really had a friend. However, it is his final year in high school and he is desperate to leave a mark on the one girl of his dreams, Linda. He has loved her from the day he saw her. But, he has never had the guts to speak to her as he is anti-social.
Costume
Reggie wears the conventional 'nerdy' attire which consists of women's jackets, multicoloured shirts, patterned ties, tight trousers and a huge rucksack. Although Reggie lacks confidence, he refuses to change his style of the clothes he wears. Not once has he worn a plain shirt with no patterns on it. His trousers are always far too short for him as he pulls them way too high and his jacket is always so tight. He wears a tight jacket so that the cold doesn't seep through the sleeves. He hopes to go unnoticed by the jocks but he is too different to the jocks to not be seen. He is precisely the opposite of the jock; in height, in build, in style of clothing, etc.
Costume
Reggie suffers from asthma which he embarrassingly has to take every time he takes part in any form of sports activity, unlike the jock who is extremely athletic. He also wears a particular hat that he refuses to take off at any time. Regardless of what he is doing, he always has that hat on which fails to cover his scruffy, thick, wavy, brunette hair.
