As it is my artist's first album, I think a direct mid shot of the artist himself is effective as it makes a clear but modest introduction to the Indie/Folk/Alternative industry.
Modesty is common in these genres as they draw closer attention to their talents, rather than their appearance.
This is why I will be using a simple and clear image of the artist for the front cover.
Inside Panels
Both images will be in black and white.
Why?
The side profile of the artist may be featured on the inside panel of the album as I believe it connotes the idea of the 'inside' of his album (his songs) show different sides to him and represent him as a person by singing about person experiences of the artist.
The concept of having the songs very personal to the artist is very generic within the Indie genre.
I decided to change the name of the album to 'Compass' which is why I will be including an image of a compass as the CD. The name 'Compass' represents the artist's journey that he took to get to where he is now. This gives the idea that the depth of his journey will be conveyed through his songs; making them personal.
