Queen's Birthday

The Queen celebrates two birthdays each year: her actual birthday on 21 April and her official birthday on the second Saturday in June.

In royal family birthdays have often been calebrated on a day other than the actual birthday, especially when the actual birthday has not been in the summer. King Edward VII, for example, was born on 9 November, but his official birthday was celebrated in May or June.

After the queen's speech, there is a great military parade called Trooping the colour. Over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians are involved
