Selection and justification of the goal
The answer to the questions "what?" and "how?" I want to achieve is not enough. For the analysis to be complete, it is also necessary to answer the question "why?"
Most companies (political groups) know what they do and how they do it, but they lack a deeper sense of their own activity
Goal
Selection and justification of the goal
WHY?
HOW?
WHAT?
This is particularly important in relation to candidates (who are not list fillers).
"Why do you want to become a councillor, mayor, MP, Emperor of the Galactic Empire...?
A common answer to the question "Why?" Is victory", but it is necessary to look at it more deeply.
The goals can be very different (both for the candidate and for the organization), e.g.:
Selection and justification of the goal
Moreover, victory should not be an end in itself (although in practice it very often is). Particularly in the case of candidates, they should be understood as a means to fulfilling one's own mission. The candidate should have an idea for carrying out his public function.
Selection and justification of the goal
It is most convenient if, at the moment of making the decision to run/participate in the elections, the candidate/group has an idea for their activities in the event of achieving their goal (especially in the context of gaining power/influence on power) - e.g. what they want to change in their district, city, country.
Selection and justification of the goal
A distinction should be made between the electoral objective and the political objective, both for candidates and for entire groups.
The political goal here is not equivalent to the goal of political action in general (conquest, maintenance, participation in power).
When a political goal is equivalent to an electoral goal (taking a mandate/function, gaining and maintaining power), very often there is a threat of burnout at the personal level (to some extent this also applies to the organizational level).
Selection and justification of the goal
Knowing your goal (again, this mainly applies to the personnel level), consider whether there is a correspondence between the goal and the means.
This is particularly important due to the separation of competences/authorities of various institutions of the political system.
While holding a parliamentary mandate, especially if you are an opposition MP, you have little real possibility of influencing reality, and even more so on the reality in your immediate surroundings (municipality, city, region).

Selection and justification of the goal
When considering the appropriateness of the measure that we can obtain, it should also be considered whether there are any indications that a given person should not "play it", i.e. apply for a given mandate/position or is not suitable for it later, e.g.:
family issues - is he ready to sacrifice part of his family life,
professional and financial issues - especially in cases where the mandate will involve limiting professional activity or earnings or will have negative consequences in the future (e.g. "out of circulation" in a given industry.
Selection and justification of the goal
e.g.:
All kinds of legal issues that prevent or hinder the performance of the mandate (e.g. having the right to vote, the obligation to submit asset declarations, vetting issues),
All kinds of character traits that may prove to be an obstacle ("I'm not cut out for this"). Particularly important due to the psychological profile of people striving for power.
Consistency of values and mandate opportunities/effects (e.g. if money or fame is the overriding value).
