My target audience for this magazine is largely young classical musicians, as the people who are interested in this genre of music usually also play the music themselves.
Because of this, I make sure that the magazine includes not only articles about listening to music (which would interest those who play an instrument as well as those who don't) but it includes opportunities and information that young instrumentalists would take interest to. An example of these would be the opportunity to audition for the BBC's Young Musician of the Year Award, or an article on the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain
My target audience is not limited to, but is highly inclusive of girls. This is because my magazine contains large amounts of positive representation for girls that they often won't get in other magazines - the classical music industry is widely known to be fairly sexist, thus providing fewer opportunities for women. As well as this, pop and fashion magazines indented for females can often be perceived as objectifying, or largely centre around the model's beauty or looks. It would likely by uplifting for girls to be able to read about successful female role models who do what they love and got there by working hard.
Besides this, there's no bias to the types of people who may want to buy the magazine. I've played in a national orchestra for 2 years now, and all of the people there are very different - all that connects them is a love for this music. Because of this, I don't want to decrease my audience by showing any favour to any type of person.
