SE Cable and its Uses
Service Entrance Cable is defined by the NEC as "A single conductor or multiconductor assembly provided with or without an overall covering, primarily used for services"
A neat chunk of SE Cable
When used for interior wiring SE cable must comply with the installation methods outlined in Article 334. For exterior installations it shall be installed in accordance with Article 225 and secured every 4.5ft (Art. 334.30). USE must be installed in accordance with Article 340 when used as an underground feeder.
Uses Not Permitted
Bends in SE and USE must be made in a way that does not damage the wire. The radius of the inner curve of the bend shall not be less than five times the diameter of the cable.
