Equipped, but praying

Ephesians 6:18-24

18      With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, 19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
21      But that you also may know about my circumstances, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make everything known to you. 22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know about us, and that he may comfort your hearts.
23      Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.

Call to Prayer (vv. 18-19a)

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions

with all kinds of prayers and requests.

With this in mind, be alert and always

keep on praying for all the

                                 Lord’s people.

19 Pray also for me....

“We are filled with the Holy Spirit when we cautiously consider our actions and yield ourselves to the Spirit’s power, allowing Him to guide, influence, and govern our behavior.           We carefully align our daily choices and decisions with the wisdom and truth Scripture teaches.”

--GotQuestions, "Filled by the Holy Spirit"

Call to Prayer (vv. 18-19a)

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions

with all kinds of prayers and requests.

With this in mind, be alert and always

keep on praying for all the

                                 Lord’s people.

19 Pray also for me....

Remember what we're praying for (vv. 19-20)

19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak,

words may be given me so that I will

fearlessly make known the mystery of

the gospel, 20 for which I

                               am an ambassador in chains.

                                         Pray that I may declare

it fearlessly, as I should.

The Encouragement of example (vv. 21-22)

21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful

servant in the Lord, will tell you everything,

so that you also may know how I am

and what I am doing. 22 I am

sending him to you for this

                                     very purpose, that you

                                     may know how we are,

and that he may encourage you.

2 Corinthians 4:6-11 - 6 For God, who said “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. 8 We are experiencing trouble on every side, but are not crushed; we are perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 we are persecuted, but not abandoned; we are knocked down, but not destroyed, 10 always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body. 11 For we who are alive are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our mortal body.

The Encouragement of example (vv. 21-22)

21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful

servant in the Lord, will tell you everything,

so that you also may know how I am

and what I am doing. 22 I am

sending him to you for this

                                     very purpose, that you

                                     may know how we are,

and that he may encourage you.

peace, love, faith, grace, love (vv. 23-24)

23 Peace to the brothers and

sisters, and love with faith from

                             God the Father and

                        the Lord Jesus Christ.

                            24 Grace to all who

                        love our Lord Jesus

Christ with an undying love.

1. You are IN CHRIST, with ALL THINGS for ALL TIME.

2. The challenge is to live like you believe that.

3. Pray continually for THAT.
