Explain each of these sectors and identify some examples of the services or products offered in Loyka in each of these sectors according to information provided by the case.
The primary sector consists of the activities oriented to obtain resources from nature itself, in this case, the construction site located to make either the hospital or the university. The secondary sector are the activities that involve the procesing of these resources such as manufacturing, for example, the cell production. The tertiary sector consists of the services given to the one that requests them, in this case, the training of future profesionals in the case that the university is made. As one of the main objectives, Pierce had to develop a strategy in order to improve the UWP troops’ image within the community of Loyka. Considering that she had experience regarding marketing-related topics, this seemed like the right task for her to do. She had to sell a positive image to get people to think again that these troops were in Loyka for the country’s good. The other main objective that Pierce had was to find a way to motivate the UWP troops again for them to make their job as good as possible. The troops began to lose motivation because they felt unwanted in Loyka. A factor to consider is that the UWP had the salaries set already, so financial rewards whatsoever were not a motivational option this time. In conclusion, there are types of motivation that can help your organization, customers, employees to give their best work.
Autocratic leadership is when the person in charge uses his power through punishments and threats. They tell people exactly what to do and only care about the result. The staff felt less motivated to do the work because they don’t help on the decision of important stuff or they do not make decision by their own. By not being motivated to do the job correctly then it affects everything since they do not give all their potential to the work. Workers are only told what to do so they only finish their work to get pay and not to help the company. Autocratic leadership is not a very efficient style since it does not motivate the workers.
First of all, the government is involved with the troops that came to help after the civil war, laws will interfere with the humanitarian proyect that the UWP are planning to do concerning the permisions and such. Concerning economy, it is torn by the civil war, so it’s on recession. This means that the UWP will face some difficulties when trying to make the hospital or university since the resources can come by at a higher price. Then goes the cultural environment, according to the study case, the people are against the troops since they have reported misbehavior from them, giving them a bad reputation, thus the purpose of the mission ( to improve the motivation from these soldiers). Now, concerning the quality, going back to the point given about the economy, the quality of the goods taken may not be the best since the resources become rarer and more demanded once a civil war has ended. these are the factors that determine the success or the failure of the UWP’s mission.
The external stakeholders are the community, the government. While the internal are the directors of the operation, and the employees( being the troops). The community is given the benefit of what the organization will produce for them, whether it is the hospital or the university. The government is involved in this project since they are going to give the permission to the UWP to build the facilities. The directors are involved since they will organize the the operations and how they are going to be done. The troops will be the ones doing the hard work, whether it’s helping to build the facilities or carry around the resources.
