Time to begin your first small project to be completed over the next 4 weeks.

Compose, Record, Video and register a Co-written work and launch your portfolio page

your portfolio is worth 15% and assessed at the end of the year

You have 4 sessions to complete this

As a group write a short contract prior to co-writing, this will be tweaked as you go to reflect the proportion of the song to be attributed to the writers

Record this track to a quality you and the band are happy with. You can use the small studio to do this by booking it with Sharon. You can also use a zoom recorder or any equipment you have as a group. You can use other people to record and/or perform it.

Upon completion of the recording and writing of the song the work must be registered with APRA and rights attributed to each writer in the group.

You must put this song on YouTube and SoundCloud and embed these along with your bio, contact details and chosen photo on your portfolio site.

Yes you can add other songs to your portfolio site and yes once this task is done you can remove the song and replace it with anything else you record during the year.

- list other music streaming services

- contact and info on indie music publishers in New Zealand

- what do publishers require on first contact?

- indie radio stations in New Zealand. Contact details with names of shows and DJ’s. Try to cover a spread of styles.
