What IS Create Lists?
- From CSDirect:
- A "powerful report generator [that] enables you to create lists of records based on your own criteria. This tool applies Boolean searching to help you create subsets of the database for use in reports."
So, Create Lists is:
- A tool for searching your records
- A preliminary step to exporting records
- Easier and faster to learn than SQL querying
What can I use it for?
- Cataloging/Metadata:
- Weeding
- Record import/export
- Batch record editing
- Batch record deletion
- Circulation:
- Missing items
- Fines owed
- System maintenance:
- Record cleanup

How to Create a List
Mac Keyboard Shortcuts
- Double-click in a field to bring up the menu
- Type or choose your selection
- Hit enter or click "OK" to move to the next field
- Harder to navigate through quickly than Windows
Windows Keyboard Shortcuts
- Click once in each field to type a choice (b, $, 76, etc.)
- Double-click in a field to bring up the menu
- Type or choose your selection
- Hit enter or click "OK" to move to the next field
