This is purely  an artistic video as the girl's face is covered by paint and through out the music video the audience is entertained by the movement of paint on the girl's face, till the girl is finally revealed.

Other Prominent Styles

ANIMATIONS - videos containing 2D & 3D animations and effects. Also the use of drawings to illustrate meaning.

INTERPRETIVE - something that looks like something else, but has a different meaning. Interpretive music videos normally want the audience to make their own interpretation of what

they think the music video is about.

Example: Rihanna - Russian Roulette - this video is a prime example as the video doesn't give a clear meaning and it is open to audience interpretation. The video is about a woman who appears to of been placed inside a special Russian prison, where the guards don’t seem to be too nice to her. This means that the audience has to interpret their own meaning on the video as it isn’t made clear where she is or why she is there.

Example:

1. Proyecto Eskhata - La Era Metálica - this is an animated music video as the singer is animated in a cartoon and so is the other characters.

2."Brightest Star" - Fastwalkers. Directed by Ercan Alister Kosar. This is a 3D animated music video.

Example:

Avril Lavigne - Official 'Alice (Underground)'

SURREALIST
