Planning my music video:

Locations Research

To film our music video, we will need the following types of location:

  • A busy city centre
  • On a train/at a train station
  •  A plain or relatively plain wall to serve as a wall to serve as a background for filming
  • A room with a projector

We were originally going to try and film our city scenes in London, as it would have fit the aesthetic of our video extremely well. However, we were unable to find a time that would be convenient to travel so far, so we have decided to film in Bath instead, since both me and Bailey know the area well. This works out perfectly, as we will need to get the train to Bath, so we can film our scenes involving trains and a train station on the way. When in Bath, we will be filming in the city centre. We haven't gone to look for specific locations in Bath, as we both know the area so well already that finding places to film should be easy for us.

We could potentially use a wall in one of our houses as a background for filming, or failing that, we could put up a plain white sheet on the fence in my back garden and film in front of that.

The majority of classrooms at our school contain projectors, so it should not be hard to find a room that's free for us to use. Preferably, we will be using the drama studio or media room to film, as I have used the drama studio for projection before and I know that it works well. The media classroom has blackout blinds which would make our projections stand out really well, however, it contains a whiteboard instead of a smart board, which could make the projections look less effective.
