Privacy

Should I Use a VPn?

  • Connection is secured (usually using AES)
  • Masking location & IP Addresses
  • Tunnel through restricted sites & censorship
  • Easier to use as a layer of security over normal web services, esp video, than Tor. (Google Drive, YouTube etc)
  • Nothing (even Tor) is truly 100% anonymous
  • Some VPNs: RiseUp VPN, PIA, TunnelBear, OpenVPN

Social Networks & Interconnected Online Profiles

How much do people really know about me?

  • How easy is it for someone to social engineer me?
  • Can websites be manipulated into giving out my personal information? Yes, even Facebook.
  • Open an incognito browser window and search:

(your name)  site:(social network).com
