We have developed a flexible schedule (attached) that accommodates the attention span of a middle level student.
Our secondary focus was advisory, placing it at the beginning when students are most vulnerable, and allotting necessary time for team and individual planning for teachers.
Our advisory plan focuses primarily on the developmental stages of the young adolescent.
We will take each day of the week and focus on a developmental characteristic to ensure that each characteristic is covered in full.
We will fill our 40 minute advisory period with at least 30 minutes of interaction and learning to emphasize the development of the students.
Focusing on Moral Development Characteristic

Lesson of the Activity: To teach students how important it is not to judge a person based on the way they look.

Study Groups
Integrated into Advisory
Organized study group to help other students who may be struggling in a particular subject area.
This will give hands on instruction and assistance from fellow students, and possibly put learning in a way for students to understand.
