ONE

SET YOUR SHIPPING OPTIONS

  • Create all of your shipping options for UK (and Rest of the World if applicable)
  • Clearly state the shipping cost in the title and description
  • Clearly state the distributor and expected delivery times in description

TWO

CHECK YOUR CONTACT DETAILS

  • System notification email (this includes platform updates and order confirmations)
  • Customer email (this is your customer facing email address to help direct customer queries)
  • Customer telephone number (this is your customer facing telephone number to help direct customer queries)

THREE

TELL YOUR STORY

  • Add your details to the shop description section to help customers identify who you are and to build trust and rapport
  • Add your store logo, make sure it represents who you are, your branding and ensure it is larger than 336x336px
  • Add in your returns policy. It must be concise, easy to understand and comply with the distance selling regulations

FOUR

ADD YOUR SHOP CATEGORIES

  • Create a category structure which allows your customers to browse your products by type
  • DON’T overdo it. Only include a category if it’s going to be populated by plenty of products
  • You will add your products to these categories later so you'll need to make sure your categories make sense

FIVE

ADD YOUR PRODUCTS

  • You'll either need to add your products manually or using the Rakuten product CSV
  • Make sure you add a large proportion of your product range, giving you the best chance of being successful
  • Get your products noticed – use our great SEO guide to ensure you’re including the key information CLICK HERE

SIX

DESIGN YOUR STORE

  • Add your shop header (950px width) and hyperlink it to your shop front
  • Add some category pictures in the 'shop top page' and hyperlink them to your shop categories
  • Add in a side banner which displays a deal, or some interesting information about your store

SEVEN

FINAL STORE CHECKS

  • Make sure your contact details are correct, and that you’re happy with the appearance of your storefront
  • Double-check your products are priced correctly and have good quality images
  • Ensure all of the hyperlinked images in your store link through to the correct pages
