Each proposal costs the masternode network $10k to evaluate

Scope

The scope of work involves vetting, funding, and reporting on five small, low-risk, community-driven projects (coding, marketing, etc).  Funded projects will have their own, separate scopes of work.

Example Projects

  • Software projects
    • mobile apps, web apps, etc
  • Marketing efforts
    • merchant on-boarding / meetups
    • regular blogs / vlogs / podcasts
  • 10+ of this- and last-month's proposals

Deliverables

  • Admin
    • Request for (off-treasury) proposals
    • Proof of payment to RFP winners
    • End-of-term results report
  • RFP winners
    • Project proposals (using this format)
    • Own respective project deliverables

Schedule

Start with a two-month trial period.  An RFP kicks things off.  Five proposals would then be approved to commence work.  Admin deliverables are spelled out; subcontract deliverables would depend on approved projects.

Milestones

  • 2017-05-05 - Superblock payout
  • 2017-05-08 - Admin submits open off-treasury RFP
  • 2017-05-15 - Submission deadline for community proposals
  • 2017-05-22 - Admin approves subcontractors, commence work
  • 2017-06-19 - Subcontractors report to admin with deliverables
  • 2017-06-26 - Admin reports to MNOs/community
  • Depending on feedback, renew this charter w/ treasury proposal

Budget

The project targets 50 DASH/month for two (2) months

Cost Items

  • Subcontracts - stipends to five (5) community proposals
  • Admin - stipends to two (2) program administrators
  • Program expenses / contingency
  • Proposal reimbursement

Cost Table

Cost Item DASH Note
Subcontracts 50 10 DASH/month * 1 month * 5 subcontracts
Admin 40 10 DASH/month * 2 months * 2 admins
Misc expenses / contingency 5 See note 1
Proposal reimbursment 5 Admin may require 1 DASH/contractor to front this
Total 100 50 DASH/mo for (2) months
  1. 6-month subscription to slides.com premium, meetup.com fees, etc. for community use + contingency (tipping, unforeseen expenses, etc)

Summary

This project introduces formal subcontracting (or proposal pooling) in Dash.  This serves contractors, masternode operators, and the community as a whole

Key Benefits

  • Cost-efficient & decentralized scaling
    • Work for Dash with low barrier to entry
    • Reduce cost of community contribution
    • Reduce cost of masternode governance

Additional Thoughts

  • Happy to escrow funds
  • Anyone can act as admin
  • Dash Forum Poll:
    • Do you support this initiative?
      • Yes
      • No
      • Maybe (needs tweaking)

Thank You
