Thesis:

The ultimate product in Engineering at MX is the people, therefore we should have a leadership position focused on team operations and enablement.

Problem:

Multiple initiatives around processes and people are being designed, socialized and implemented in parallel

Some of these are in conflict with each other

Others benefit individuals or teams in silos

Some are implemented partially and dropped

Few are succesfully communicated to the rest of the company.

Our growth in 2021 will bring us to the breaking point where this lack of focus and clarity will hinder our ability to execute our mission.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, Document & Measure hiring, firing,  retention, and other operation practices
  • Own external-facing Engineering engagements
  • Build and maintain our presence in open source communities
  • Establish and formalize data privacy best practices and liaison with Security
  • Plan and execute Engineering off-site and cultural events
  • Formalize training and metrics for our management layer
