Elegy for April Evaluation

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From our preliminary task to our full product I have learnt many valuable skills and techniques. In terms of cinematography our preliminary mainly consisted of close up shots and over the shoulder shots with a match on action shot however within our full product we have incorporated a wider variety of shots.

Also I believe that our use of titles has largely improved from our preliminary with them appearing more dynamic and more in depth, rather than only having the name of our product and the cast we also incorporated the director, screenwriter and cinematographer, We also used a font which greater fit the style of our film, Our use of sound i believe has greatly progressed since our preliminary as we have incorporated more authentic sounds and used foley work to capture our own sounds rather than use an abundance of stock sounds like in our preliminary.

 I have also learnt how valuable the tools available within editing software such as final cut are to the over all quality of the product for example the ability to stabilise shots and apply effects to each shot are highly valuable within the post production process this is something which at the time of our preliminary I personally understated the value of within the creation of a film
 

Overall, I believe that i have progressed and gained valuable skills and have over all grown more competent in terms of cinematography and editing
