a system on a chip
designed to support applications
self contained operating environment
all system capabilities required to support mobile applications
Mobile processors may be independent from other specialized processors in the same device, such as a phone's baseband processor
memory management
graphics processing and multimedia.
Some vendors manufacture their own mobile application processors.
Other vendors purchase their mobile application processors, using them as original equipment manufacturer components.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile phone application processor is contained in many smart phones that use Qualcomm Snapdragon to run the Android mobile phone operating system and Android mobile applications.
Mobile Phone Processor Architecture
SoC processor cores often use the ARM architecture because it is a soft processor specified as an IP core and more power efficient than x86.
Intel However has tried manufacturing x86 processors but hasn't succeeded.
Intel is better with Computer Processors
ARM has licenses companies to use it's architecture. Such as Apple and Qualcom
Architecture Matters!
Apple Manufactures it's own Processors but Samsung Doesn't!!
Apple's first 64-bit Device : Iphone 5s
2013
Samsung's first 64-bit Device: Galaxy S4
Late 2014
Samsung Galaxy S6 : 14 nm
Samsung Galaxy s7: 10 nm
Apple Iphone X : 7nm
Best Core Processor looks weak if GPU is weak!!
