STABLE ANGINA 

Stable angina

  • chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to your heart
     
  • induced by effort, exercise or stress to your body

Causes of angina

  • Atherosclerosis
     
  • Plaque -  made of fat, cholesterol, calcium and other substances found in blood
     
  • Blod clots

Main risk factors: 

 

  • being overweight - our patient is definitely obese
  • having a history of heart disease - both father and mother suffered from heart problems 
  • having high cholesterol or blood pressure - after receiving the test we can se that our patient have both a high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels 
  • being diabetic
  • smoking - 40 each day, over several years 
  • not exercising enough - sits every day during work ours, do not exercise 

    Other possible risk factors 
  • big meals 
  • prolonges exposure to extreme hot or cold temperature

Symptoms of stable angina

  • Chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • nausea
  • fatigue
  • dizziness
  • profuse sweating
  • anxiety

Diagnosing stable angina 

  • Electrocardiogram
    • ​ST depression 
  • Stress test 

  • Blood test 

Treatment of stable angina 

  • Lifestyle changes
    • exercise, stop smoking, weight loss  
  • Medications 
    • nitroglycerin
  • Angioplasty
