- dry, dead surface skin (stratum corneum)

Follicular plugg

- excessive keratin in an inactive hair follicle

Atrophic scarring

- looks like small pits in skin  

- irregular shape

- caused when underlying structures supporting the skin, as fat and muscle, are lost
