The Scientific Revolution​​

The scientific revolution started in the 16th century with the work and the ideas of many people, like Copernicus and Galilei.

Galilei was interested in science and astronomy and he used the telescope to watch the moon and the sun, and he proved that Copernicus was right about the structure of the universe.

Galileo was born on 15th February 1564 in Pisa. His mum was Giulia Ammannati and his dad was Vincenzo Galilei: merchant and musician. Galileo studied in Pisa and in Florence. He studied medicine.

He was teacher of Mathematics in Padova.

He was accused of heresy by the church, because he didn't accept the authority of the Bible and the Church.

The scientific revolution changed the relationship between the man and the authority: the man is free to think and does't have to obey to any authority.

Knowledge is based on experience and experiment.

This led to Illuminism, The French Revolution and the modern world.

The development of science in 16th century through the work of scientists like Copenicus and Galilei brougt to various inventions and to the formation of the scientific method.

The new scientists were: Galileo Galilei, Niccolò Copernico and Giordano Bruno.
