Textual analysis 6, band website

How does the website represent the band?

  • The website represents the band as being quirky and indie, this can be inferred by the way they are all dressed. For example, some of them are wearing denim jackets and skinny black trousers, which suggests they are a little bit different and like to dress in a certain way which makes them stand out.
  • The band comes across as being optimistic as the band name is 'peace' with a their well known peace sign to accompany this, therefore they give off a modern hippy vibe. The website is very vibrant as it is yellow and their new album is called 'happy people', which suggests their songs make you feel good about yourself. However, this is juxtaposed because at the top of the page, there is a short video of the band which shows the grunge side of them as the lighting is gloomy and washed out, which can show there is two sides to the band; the optimistic side and the indie side.
