PALM MUTE/PERCUSSIVE STRUMMING
Instead of stopping on a rest, you can also "strum through" notes using muted strings to create a desired string noise.
Two most effective mute/rest methods:
PALM MUTE OVER SOUND HOLE
"LOOSE" FINGERS OVER STRINGS ON NECK
* Palm mute allows for more control over accents/texture of strums
* Fingers on strings provides more strumming hand freedom

The combination of three or more sounds in a manner that produces a musically consistent, agreeable, pleasing whole.

Octaves
Many musical scales in the West use eight notes. The distance between the first and eighth note is called an octave. This octave distance can be broken down into 12 semitones (on a guitar, each fret is one semitone.) ... Also: playing any note an octave higher will double it's frequency vibration rate.

1) Warm-up: Continue practicing the colored fingering exercises at the end of ROOKIE (Level 1) tab at least three times. Don't go too fast -- just concentrate on making clean notes.
2) Review string names (SEMI-PRO I), and try tuning one string each practice.
3) Familiarize yourself with tab and play through ABCs (check slide below)
