The media institution that would be most likely to distribute my alternative music magazine would be a company called IPC Media as they don't already own an alternative music magazine and so I would have more of a chance of someone buying my magazine than if I was with the company Bauer as they already produce a music magazine called Kerrang! If my magazine is distributed by IPC Media then it's more likely going to sell because there is no other magazine like mine specially from the same distributer.
Some ways that my magazine could be distributed is by being sold in supermarkets and small shops as these are very popular so more copies will probably be sold. However lots of alternative magazines are sold in places like this, so I will have lots of competitions from magazines such as NME or Kerrang! Another idea of how to distribute the magazines would be to publish them on the internet. So people still pay the same amount, they can just read it on the internet. This could be good idea as the people that are more likely to but the magazine, will use the internet. However people may not buy it as they would have to print the posters themselves and some people might not be able to print them. People prefer to take the posters straight out of the magazine. My magazine could be distributed at concerts of alternative bands/artists as they are more likely going to be sold there because lots of people that like alternative music would all be at one place. I think this would be the best option of how to distribute the magazine. Before my magazine is sold at concerts like Reading and Leeds, or concerts for bands such as Fall Out Boy or All Time Low, permanently the distributors could have a trial by giving them away for free or a lower price to see how many people would actually buy it.
