  • an Internet connection
  • a code editor
  • a local web server
  • latest Google Chrome

Workshop steps

  1. Add a web application manifest (~ 15 min)
  2. Installation and activation of a Service Worker (~ 15 min)
  3. Precaching static assets and offline mode (~ 20 min)
  4. Cache / Update / Refresh strategy for the API (~ 20 min)
  5. Background sync and push notification example (~ 15 min)

      Transform a classic website into a Progressive Web App

       git checkout tags/stepN to jump to step N
       (for example, if you are stuck on step 3, checkout tag step4)
