Question:
What would be the audience for your media product?
General audience for my movie
The general audience of my movie would be British urban, teenage girls. This is because some of the thing that are explored in my movie opening, relate specifically to teenagers in Britain. Also, the stereotypes and characters used are easily relate-able to my general target audience.
Relation to British urban teenagers
There is a relation to British urban teenagers because, stereotypical characters in British films, wear certain clothes that working class people wear - simplistic tracksuits, and large hoop earring. This is contrasted with the main character and her 'opposition' as she is dresses well. Also, the Mise en Scene, of the movie shows the London scene, in terms of how the area looks and things like the 'red bus' going past. The multicultural cast suggests a British film too as this is how a lot of them are like.
This is a photo from 'Sket' which is a British urban movie, and this shows their costume and culture, which are similar to the main charter in my movie.
Relation to teenage girls
This movie is related to girls because is is an all girls cast firstly, and secondly, it explore themes that usually occur in teenage girl groups. Themes such as, conflict between friends and family, bullying and outcasts in social groups.
4.3.2.1 is a British urban movie that has an all female main cast and is similar to my film as it appeals more to girls. Also the girls in this film conflict with each other, their families and there is a main outcast between them.
Audience specific to sub genre
The sub genre for my movie is: Drama and British Urban

Teens that will be drawn to my movie will be those that live in the Britain and enjoy drama scenes: Kidulthood is an urban British drama film, so my film would attract the same audience. Kidulthood also explores some of the themes that are explored in my film, like bullying and conflict within groups.
The main characters in Kidulthood are boys, which contrasts with my movie. My main characters are all girls and this may prevent some boys from being interested, as they may think it is a 'girly' film.
My sub genre target audience is therefore girl that live in London and can relate to some of the themes in my film, also who enjoy dramatic scenes and dramatic characters.
Kidulthood
This scene from Kidulthood shows bulling in two different areas of school, cross cutting between each other. This is a more extreme side pf bullying but it shoes that bulling is relate-able in teenagers in Britain, and this is why we included it ans what will attract some teenage girls.
Specific audience for my film, based on USP
My specific audience is teenage girls that live in London and that can relate to issues like bullying, conflict with similar groups and friends and conflict with family. Also, it will relate to the girls that feel left our in their homes and social groups and girl who feel lonely.
Fishtank is the film that related to my film the most, as the main character also has conflict with her family and friends, the main character is a girl and she is the 'loner'/ outcast in the film, which is similar to what we tried to portray in my film. The audience for my film therefore will be the same that was attracted by and targeted to by the film Fish tank. The trailer clip and the above shoes some of the themes that are similar to what we explored in my film opening.
