Nassim's Personal Reflections on Thinking Differently

In August of this year, Nassim and a number of Academy team members converged in the mountains above Santa Cruz, CA.

 

We worked together on writing and editing modules, and
brought in a wonderful crew to record video footage for this pilot.
 
The videos in this slide show come from an afternoon session where Teresa asked Nassim to share about his own experience of being a “different kind of thinker,” looking at some of the things he learned by following a different path,
and how those things have impacted his life and research.

“When did you first notice you were

Nassim spent most of his childhood in Quebec, Canada

with his parents and older sister.

“What did you learn from

Studying Nature?”

Nature was (and continues to be) a constant teacher and guide for Nassim in his research.

“What did you learn from

studying Ancient Cultures?”

Nassim's willingness to think outside the box lead him in a number of unconventional directions in his research,
one of the most profound of which was his study of

Ancient Cultures.

 

“What did you learn from participating in Extreme Sports

that influenced your research?”

Nassim was a Professional Ski Instructor in his youth,

His home base was Banff Ski Resort, but he also traveled to, and worked at, a number of ski destinations around the world.

What did you learn from

Skiing?”

Nassim was an avid Free Diver and Scuba Instructor.

 

He has also spent countless hours swimming with

Dolphins, Whales, Manta Rays, Turtles

and other amazing sea life.

During Nassim's 5 years of intensive research in solitude, he would often go solo climbing in the mornings or early evenings.

 

Many profound insights emerged during these moments of extreme focus and communion with nature.
