The Production company we have decided to work with is Film 4, During the pitch we set out to aim for a niche audience therefore we aim to look into an independent company.
Film 4 is suitable to provide to the implication we
set out to do. This is a low budget production, this means
that there would be less technology to provide for us. For
example inexpensive equipment giving of a low quality film. In comparison to mainstream they may have a better quality film.
This doesn't mean that the movie is not good.
What does having a low budget mean?
Low budget
Having a low budget may restrict us to having less access
to expensive post - production for example CGI. When
we compare this to a mainstream company they can be able
to afford all the expensive technologies and big stars for
example Brad Pitt. This is more based on a world wide audience as this means that they can be able to produce more budget getting more known.
Low budget
Although we wouldn't be able to access all of the fancy equipment. We wouldn't be able to have synergy and sell out merchandise because of the low budget. This means no red carpet premiere for our stars to get recognized. We would be able to give more opportunities to young unknown stars and give more job opportunities to the crew. For example in the movie 'In Fear' the director is based on releasing drama episodes such as Sherlock Holmes. This would be his first feature to producing a film.

We will be working with Studio Canal because this has similar traits to Film 4. (low budget and independent movie)
Although having a smaller crew means that the movie would take more time to release on to DVD-blu ray and cinema's. The cinema would therefore be local in UK rather than world wide. However we might try to use more alternative online methods to market our movie to be recognized. For example online social networking website such as Facebook and twitter. This is because it's free and easy to access for the audience and the distribution company.
