Soccer culture in Brazil should be embraced by all people who love this sport  because to this day soccer has produced some of the worlds greatest players that soccer has ever seen. you may think soccer in brazil is not that great but Brazil has proven how great they are by winning five World Cups.

History of soccer

  • It has been said that soccer may have originated from when pirates attack a village. After defeating the pirates the villagers kick around the decapitated heads of the pirates.
  • Brazil was introduced to soccer in 1894.
  • Brazil was also the second country to be introduced to soccer in South America.
  • Brazil has qualified to play in every single World Cup since the World Cup was invented.
  • Brazil has also won 5 World Cups titles

  • 2014 Brazil hosted the world cup games (which caused a huge outrage including a huge riot)

  • Edson Arantes do Nascimento

  • Born October 23,1940

  • His dad use to stuffed a sock with rags for a soccer ball

  • at 11yrs old he polished shoes, for money, to buy a soccer ball

  • helped win first world cup at 17yrs old in 1958

  • 1958, 1962, and 1970 helped win the World Cup 

    Pele' to Visit India in October. 

Importance of Soccer to the people ofBrazil

  • Some employers even give their employees off to watch the game

  • Brazilians have nicknamed brazil "o País do Futebol", which translates into the country of football.

  • Kids skip school to play soccer

Violence and Riots

  • In 2013 referee stabs player, Fans and family stone, kill, decapitate and quarter the referees body on the soccer field.

  • in 2014 riot after world cup game due to Brazil spending over 11 billion dollars to host the event.

  • Violence at soccer games are common not just in Brazil but in the whole region of South America​
