My First Outfit Choice

I’ve started getting an idea of the outfits for my model to wear during the music video, but some changes will still be made as I’m not too sure about having the leather jacket on her for both outfits.

For the first outfit I had suggested her to wear something not to simple but a little ‘tomboyish’. I got this idea by contrasting the typical appearance which would fit the Male Gaze theory. This outfit is more likely to be seen during the first part of the music video, where she’s most likely to be walking around by herself, mainly just singing. Not only was I able to take pictures but I also managed to take 3D photos of the outfits. This way you can see how each piece of clothing fits perfectly with each other.

Being the first outfit to appear on the music video I wanted to be less flashy compared to her second. In order to fit my storyboard, the audience will probably see the artists getting ready in her room and then walking and performing at a nearby pier; this way the audience can see this music video more emotionally and relate to the song.

The reason behind the grey Vans and blue jeans, were to create a simple outfit that most girls these days would wear. On top of using my questionnaire results as another reason, since most people who answered them had said that they would be interested in the artist’s fashion.

Whereas the leather jacket connotes a sense of power, making the models appearance seem more bold and strong. Which is what I was aiming for during this first outfits, everything without the leather jacket seems like a normal day outfit for most people. However listening to the lyrics of my hosen song, allows the leather jacket to change the whole sense of the outfit; creating a connotation of a person who is doing her normal routine but puts on a strong to block other people’s opinions getting to her.
